Strategic and Operational Planning

The purpose of strategic planning is to set the course for an organization and define success.  By developing specific objectives, measures and strategies required to achieve success, you will provide a framework to maximize your resources, communicate how you will achieve success and motivate all employees to collectively achieve a common vision. Operational planning links strategy to operations by adding the detail needed to implement the strategic plan.  We have worked with individuals, teams and groups of over 50 in visioning and planning activities.

Working with you we will:

  1. Design and facilitate scenario and common vision development sessions.
  2. Define information that must be further researched for planning based on evidence and compete available information.
  3. Develop strategic planning sessions based on your specific needs and may include defining your market, articulating your missions, vision and values, defining key long term goals and strategies, competitive analysis, identifying issues facing your organization and strategies to overcome these or other specific requirements.
  4. Design and facilitate the creation of comprehensive strategic and operational plans (including a human resource plan) to achieve results and outcomes, including the definition of success metrics. 
  5. Help provide a plan of action, which is done on a day-to-day basis to achieve outcomes and strategies and define performance indicators.
  6. Design and prepare the documentation of the plans.
  7. Develop processes for monitoring and reporting on progress.
  8. Provide training and resource materials, which include tools and techniques, based on the unique requirements of the public sector and help the client to build their own planning processes.
