Support for Exponential Growth.
Travel Alberta In Province has grown exponentially in the last 5 years and required additional human resource and management practices. Capability Connections provided a range of services including Job Descriptions, Classifications Review, Selection tools including Hiring Advertisements, Interview Patterns, Performance Review Process and Executive Team Building.
Instructional Design
For Service Alberta we provided instructional design services in the development of two training modules for a series of training courses in Procurement. We produced a high quality design, participant manual, instructor guide, slides and coaching for the technical expert instructor.
Career Development Needs Assessment
Also for Service Alberta we conducted an assessment of the department’s existing career capability. The research included the development of a survey questionnaire and the planning and delivery of interviews and focus groups. The report and suggested actions contributed to the decision to move forward with specialized training for supervisors in managing performance.
Organizational Review Assessment
The National Energy Board required an assessment of the effectiveness of their cross functional team structure that was, at the time of the project, five years old. We employed a variety of research methods to assess the success of the five year old structure. The report resulted in a variety of follow-up projects including the rewriting of all management and administrative job descriptions in the organization. Capability Connections also completed this project.
Succession Planning Meeting Facilitation and Policy Review
For Apeetogosan Métis Development Inc. we provided facilitation support for the Board as they developed a plan for succession of key leadership roles. The meeting also included a facilitated review of new Human Resource Policy. A diversity of perspectives challenged the achievement of the meeting objectives but excellent facilitation resulted in fully achieved results.
